I missed out on the Friendship Bracelet craze during the 80s and 90s. As an adult at the time, I was more interested in jewellery of the precious metal kind. However, when Fiona suggested I make up a friendship bracelet kit, it solved my question as to what to pop into one of the fabric baskets I'd made.

Hair Ties Tutorial...
A young girl can never have too many hair accessories. If you are after some last minute gifts, hair ties made from fabric covered buttons are SO easy to make... just a few minutes of your time. Today's tutorial will show you how to make two different styles.

Seagull Cushion...
I'm thrilled with my latest cushion!!! It's just perfect for someone who lives near the beach. I made the seagull cushion as a Christmas present, but I'm oh, so tempted to keep it for myself. I don't live anywhere near the beach, but I still think it looks great sitting on my lounge.

Easy Ideas for Gift Wrapping...
In case you missed it, here's the post I wrote for the Seasonal Sewing Series, over at So Sew Easy.
When Deby asked if I wanted to contribute to the So Sew Easy Seasonal Sewing Series, I immediately agreed. Not only did it sound like a fun series, but I could get a head start on planning and sewing for Christmas.

Fabric Basket with Drawstring Top ~ Tutorial...
Finally, here's the tutorial showing how to make my latest fabric baskets with a drawstring top. The tutorial will show how I made both the Fabric Baskets for the Boys and the Fabric Baskets for the Girls
This basket is essentially a drawstring bag joined to a fabric basket with handles. It's not hard to make, but it is quite a long tutorial. The finished dimensions - 7" x 4" x 6" (w x d x h), with the drawstring section adding roughly another 6" to the height.

A Little About Me...
Have you come across ChrisW Designs? Christine is a fellow Aussie who designs and sells PDF bag patterns. I have my eye on the Amy backpack. I know it's only 3 weeks till Christmas and I have a quilt to finish, not to mention lots of other things, but I know a little one who would love this bag.
If you pop over to Christine's blog today, you might learn a little more about me.

Car Boot Liner...
It will probably come as no surprise to you, that I carry a lot of gardening supplies in the back of my car. To prevent mess and dirt in the car, I've always used PVC tablecloths, but it's always been difficult to make the sides stay up while I'm loading the car. To be more exact, I'm usually trying to hold the sides up and trying to not get in the way of the nursery guy loading the car for me.

Progress on my Second Quilt...
Last week I bought my first jelly roll. Not so long ago, I didn't even know what a jelly roll was. Fat quarters were the limit of my knowledge of cut fabric, other than straight yardage. I have yet to enter into the world of charm packs and layer cakes, too, but I'm sure it won't be long.

Making Wrapping Paper ~ New Art Smocks...
The kids have been using our old t-shirts to protect their clothes while painting. The adult t-shirts do the job, but they're not a good fit, even though I adjusted them. The t-shirt sleeves are loose and drape across the paint, which doesn't worry the kids in the slightest, but I thought it was time to make some that fit properly.

Double Thank You...
I've been lucky enough to receive two awards from fellow bloggers, but I've been totally slack in telling you about them. The first was way back in March of this year... eight months ago. Better late than never. I hope you agree, Amy??? Thank you, Amy, for passing on the Versatile Blogger Award. If you are into sewing for tweens, little ones or American Girl dolls, then you'll want to pop over and say Hi to Amy at Sews N Bows. You'll be glad you did! Almost all of Amy's posts have a twist that bring a smile to my face or, in many cases, bring on outright laughter.
The second award was only two months ago, so I don't feel quite so guilty about that one. Thank you, Danya, for passing on the Sunshine Award; a blogger-to-blogger award for blogs that inspire and bring sunshine into people's lives. Danya is a fellow Aussie, who blogs about parenting, art and craft with kids, cooking, sewing and photography. I have pinned lots of Danya's creative arts and crafts activities, for the little people in my life. If you have young children, add Danya Banya to your blog roll.

Going Coastal Long Shorts
Now I know that for many of you, it's definitely not shorts wearing weather at the moment. Here in Australia, however, the temperatures are climbing and we're headed into Summer. It's been unseasonably hot during Spring and the kids have been wearing shorts for some time now.

Arm Protectors...
Mr TMW asked if I would make him something to protect his arms, while he's clearing lantana from our block of land. He wears a long sleeved shirt, but the lantana still causes cuts and scratches. Here's how I quickly made him some arm protectors. They took just 5 minutes.

Grocery Bag Holder...
I try not to use plastic bags when I go shopping, but somehow or another I still end up accumulating them. Hopefully by now, most of them are biodegradable. So, much as I might prefer to pretend I don't have any, I do and I needed a better way to store them. They were shoved inside another plastic bag.
