Christmas Fabric Baskets...

Once again, I've used the legs from pre-loved jeans, to make some denim fabric baskets. These little baskets could be used for many things, but I'll be filling mine with chocolates.

My Denim Fabric Baskets Tutorial has been my most popular post and these Christmas baskets are made using that tutorial. They are VERY quick and easy to make.

I've used an obvious Christmas themed fabric for one basket, whilst for the other two, I've used a red and white fabric that looks Christmassy, but the baskets won't be confined to just being used at Christmas.

The tutorial gives instructions to make the baskets in three different sizes, but you could vary the measurements to make different sized baskets to suit your needs. These three baskets each measure 4" x 4" x 4" and are made from a pair of my jeans that unfortunately, no longer fit.

I ended up putting sewing bits and pieces in the first three baskets I made. I was going to give one away as a present, but ended up keeping them all for myself. The baskets sit on a shelf right next to where I sew and contain things I frequently need when at my machine.

Christmas is just under a month away. Hmmm... I wonder whether these chocolates will make it to Christmas. One, or two, or maybe even more chocolates were eaten during the photo shoot. If you could see my desk, you'd be able to count the empty wrappers... LOL!!!

What would you put in these Christmas baskets?

I'm adding my Denim Christmas Baskets to the Refashioning with Denim and the Drawstring Bags and Fabric Baskets link parties, here on Threading My Way.

  3. I love these - I love the baskets anyways, but using Christmas fabric (and then tucking in some candy) is such a cute idea! I wonder if I have any candy cane fabric down in the dungeon - I love putting candy canes in my front hall for when the boys get home from work or for company that drops by - they'd be even cuter in a candy cane basket!

  4. You are getting great value out of that basket pattern Pam! I have a store of jeans just waiting to be cut into, but it won't happen before Christmas now!

They would be lovely filled with scented pinecones if I do manage to get round to them :)
