Gardening ~ Memories and Creativity...

No sewing in today's post. Anyone who has been reading Threading My Way for any length of time, will know that I love to garden. It's a passion I've had for my whole adult life. Other hobbies have come and gone, but gardening has always been something I love to do.

Wedding Dress Refashions...

Not long after I began blogging, my daughter persuaded me to refashion her wedding dress. I have to say, I was less than enthusiastic at the suggestion of cutting into a wedding dress. Long story short, my attitude totally changed once we got going. Thanks to my daughter, I had discovered the world of refashioning.

Tips for Mess Free Painting with Kids...

Young children love painting. I have yet to meet a child who doesn't. It's a great way for them to explore their creativity, but most importantly, a fabulous way for them to have fun.

Tips for Mess Free Painting with Kids ~ Threading My Way

Unlike many other kids' activities, however, it's not just a matter of getting out a toy, playing and packing it away. Painting with kids does require a little planning if you want it to be mess and hassle free.

Charlie Dress ~ Pattern Review...

Charlie Dress by Minog & Grace... Pattern Review ~ Threading My Way

In July, I was lucky enough to win a copy of the Charlie dress, by Mingo & Grace, and courtesy of the Dotted Whale. I love the style of the dress - the dropped waist and the gathered flounce skirt, teamed with the plain top, so I was keen to sew one up.

Mud Puddle Splashers...

Mud Puddle Spashers... sewn using a pattern by Fishsticks Designs ~ Threading My Way

Spring has arrived here in Australia and the weather is just beautiful. It's the best time of year and for me, it means more time spent out in my garden. The warmer weather also means a return to wearing shorts for most young boys. Little Mister has outgrown most of last year's shorts, so it's time to make some more.

What do you do with pre-loved jeans...

Most of us have at least a couple of pairs of jeans in our wardrobe at any given time. I'd be lost without them, as I wear jeans nearly every day. When they no longer fit, are too old to wear or are simply not a style we care to wear anymore, what can we do with them?

Give Your Images Descriptive Filenames...

Descriptive Filenames... think about naming images for your blog ~ Threading My Way

Do you think about filenames when adding photos to your blog posts? Giving your photos descriptive filenames could bring extra traffic to your blog. Now, I have no idea how Google ranks pages and websites in searches, but it makes sense that descriptive filenames are likely to rate more highly than meaningless filenames.
