Just a Reminder ~ Google Reader is going

If you use Google Reader to stay up to date with the blogs you read, then I'm sure you are aware that you will no longer be able to use it after July 1, 2013, as Google will be discontinuing this popular reader. If, like me, you are continuing to use Google Reader right till the end, then you'll be presented with the message above, each time you log in. Don't forget to click on learn more, to see how to backup your Google Reader data. You may, or may not need the backup file, depending on the option you choose, but better to be safe than sorry.

Paper Pieced Linked Squares Block...

I've done some more paper piecing; again, pattern testing for Juliet, over at Tartankiwi. The first time, Juliet trusted me to test her 5" ladybird block and this time, the linked squares block you can see here. I really am testing the process from a beginner's perspective, as the only other paper piecing I have ever done, was a Mariners Compass at a class I attended.

How to Create a Tutorials Page...

After posting the Sewing Tutorials link party, a couple of readers new to blogging, contacted me asking  how to create a tutorials page. Today's tutorial will show you how to add a Tutorials page to your Blogger blog.

Adding a page that contains links to all your tutorials, makes it easy for readers to find the tutorials you've taken a long time to create. Here's how to add one to your blog...

Threading Your Way ~ Sewing Tutorials Pages ~ Link Parties

Welcome to the thirty sixth edition of Threading YOUR Way with Threading My Way. Each ongoing, themed link party is steadily growing into a resource full of ideas and inspiration.

Our thirty sixth linky is a little different to our previous link parties. If you have ONE page that lists and links to all your sewing tutorials, then add that page to the link party. This party is NOT for individual tutorials. If you would like to add individual tutorials, have a look at the Master list of ongoing link parties.

    Baggy, Saggy Pyjamas...

Pyjamas, pajamas, pjs, jammies or jimmy jams... whatever you call them, they need to be comfortable to sleep in. Well my new pyjamas are most definitely comfortable, but they are also baggy and too short.

They do, however, have a waistband that fits well and with elastic that won't twist. Yes, this is the garment I used for a post earlier in the week.

    Stop Waistband Elastic from Twisting...

Don't you hate it when the waist elastic in the back of a garment twists!!! I have a pair of tracksuit pants, that I purchased because they looked lovely and thick. They do the job of keeping me warm, but the twisted elastic at the back annoys me and is so uncomfortable. The problem could have easily been prevented if the manufacturer had added one or two tiny steps when they were being sewn.

This tutorial will show you two easy techniques to stop waist elastic from twisting.

I've really enjoyed going through all the links added to the newly started Home Decor link party. I'm blown away by the creativity!!! The first three of this week's features are comprehensive, easy to follow tutorials, but more than that, they all show clever ways to repurpose items to keep costs down...
