Darning Large Holes in Jeans

What do you do with a pair of jeans that has a rather large hole? Refashioning or repurposing springs immediately to mind - salvage the unholy parts, and make them into something else. But that's not the only option. No matter how big the hole, it is possible to prolong the life of jeans by repairing them.

Quilting Retreat ~ Little Black Bag

This time last month, I was up at Blackheath, for a three day quilting retreat. Three days spent with people who get why you like taking little pieces of fabric and sewing them into a larger piece of fabric, which in turn becomes a mini quilt, wall hanging, bag, cushion or something similar.

Showcasing ~ Awesome Fabric Co-ordination

It's not always easy to achieve the right look when combining two or more fabrics. Pulling all the different elements together to create a great looking garment is a definite skill. There are so many things to consider - size, shape, colours, design, proportions. Some lucky sewists have the knack of co-ordinating fabrics with ease. Others, like me, have to work at it.

Showcasing ~ Baby Clothes Memory Bear ~ Pattern & Tutorial

We all have those special items of baby and toddler clothes that we just can't bear to part with. Most end up packed away in a cupboard, where they can't be seen. Turn a sentimental garment into a memory bear, so it can be put on display and seen by all.

Choo Choo Baby Pants ~ Puperita Patterns Showcase

When I was asked to join a group of sewists showcasing Puperita patterns, I was more than happy to be included. Having previously sewn garments using two of Annalisa's patterns, I was well aware of the professional standard of Puperita patterns.

How We Amused Ourselves in the 50s and 60s

As I was looking through childhood photos last night, I was fascinated with some of the toys my sister and I had, so I thought you might like to have a look at some of them, too.

Things to See and Do in Sydney...

Although we don't actually reside in Sydney, we're not too far away from Australia's largest and oldest city.. Living only 60km from the city, means we can easily travel in for day trips. Today I thought I'd show you some of the sites of Sydney - places we have visited in recent times that are either in, or near the CBD of Sydney. There's no shortage of attractions, places to visit and things do...
