In many parts of the world, single use plastic bags have been banned. Even where there is such no ban in force however, more and more people are reacting to the mounting evidence that our planet would be better off if we find more sustainable alternatives to single use plastic bags to carry our shopping. It's time for us all to ditch single use plastic shopping bags.

I don't know about you, but I find shallow dishes are the perfect way to hold small bits and pieces in my sewing room, with the contents constantly changing depending on my current project. Today's showcased tutorial doesn't involve any sewing, but does use up very small scraps of fabric.

Today's showcased project features a pouch containing three zippered compartments, with two slip pockets between. Measuring 9" x 7½", this roomy bag could be used for many things - makeup, travel sewing kit, to protect small tablets and eReaders, or a purse organiser in a larger bag.
