Sewn by YOU...

I just love it when readers let me know they've used one of my tutorials. Whether it be an email, a message on Facebook or Twitter, a comment under a post, or a photo in the Threading My Way ~ Sewn by YOU Flickr group, I really do like to see the projects you have sewn.

Here are some fabulous projects that have been Sewn by YOU, using tutorials from Threading My Way. Some have followed the tutorial as is, whilst others have used the tutorial as a starting point...

Denim Fabric Baskets Tutorial... made using the legs of pre-loved jeans, these baskets cost very little to make. And let's face it, we all have old jeans lying around.

Building Strong Relationships with Kids...

In case you missed it, here's the post I wrote for Jenya, at While she was sleeping, in the lead up to the You & Me series.

When Jenya and I were emailing back and forth about the series, she said to me that she thought building relationships takes time and ideally starts from the birth of the child. This is so, so true!!! As soon as a baby is born, a special bond is created between mother and daughter,

Co-ordinating Fabrics...

Co-ordinating fabrics is a skill and, just like any skill, not everyone excels at it. It's also subjective - we all have different tastes. However, there are certain combinations which appeal almost universally. Some people just have the knack of knowing what fabric combinations work well.

I'm not one of those lucky people. I have to work at getting the right fabrics for a project. The good news is that with practice, your skills at choosing fabrics will improve.

Doll Stroller Liner Tutorial...

Doll Stroller Liner TUTORIAL... Do not throw out that old doll stroller. Make a new liner ~ Threading My Way

I'm not a big fan of plastic toys, however, doll strollers would have to be an exception. They are inexpensive and, in our family, have proved to be money well spent. Little kids just love pushing their babies around.

The frames seem quite durable and outlive the stroller linings. Today's tutorial will show you how to make your own new lined doll stroller liners.

What's Happening in June...

A quick heads up on some sewing related happenings in June...

You and Me is a series to celebrate the art of sewing and the art of building relationships with our children throughout different ages and stages of their lives. There is one more week of the series left.
