Maxi Rainbow T-shirt Dress

There's just something about rainbow dresses that little girls love. Make it a maxi and there's even more appeal. I recently made a maxi rainbow t-shirt dress for Little Miss.

Decluttering the Sewing Room ~ A Work in Progress

At the beginning of this month, I wrote a post sharing my thoughts and progress on decluttering. Since then, I've been working my way through various parts of the house.

Showcasing ~ Gathered Round Fabric Basket Tutorial

There's no end to the number of items that can be neatly stored in fabric baskets. Measuring just 4½" in diameter x 1¾" high, these pretty baskets are perfect for holding small sewing bits and pieces. That's what I put in mine and it sits right next to my sewing machine.

Showcasing ~ Pants to Skirt Refashion

Take a pair of pants and turn them into a skirt. This tutorial shows how to keep the centre seam of the jeans straight, with no bends or folds to the side - a neat little trick that results in a lovely finish.

This week's features - a little late - (all have been Pinned)...

An awesome outfit, added to the Men's Clothes link party. So professionally sewn...

Shirley mainly sews clothes for herself and her children. Looks like she's now going to be sewing for her husband as well. I don't think there's a garment pattern out there that Shirley can't tackle.

Hemming Jeans by Hand

What do you do with a favourite pair of jeans that unfortunately has some visible stains? If you're lucky enough, the stains will be on the lower legs, so you'll be able to shorten the jeans and get rid of the marks. Today I'll show you how I re-hemmed my shortened jeans and extended their life.

How to hem jeans by hand. This tutorial will show how to take up jeans, resulting in a neat and tidy finish. ~ Threading My Way

Do I Really Need All This STUFF?

Decluttering is an often used word nowdays, but what does it actually mean? According to the Oxford dictionary:
Decluttering: Removing unnecessary items from (an untidy or overcrowded place).
Unnecessary: More than is needed; excessive.
Like most people in the Western world, I have many, many more possessions than I require. Should I join the trend and get rid of everything I have that is just a want and not a need?

Aprons may be practical and functional, but that doesn't mean they can't look good, too. This pretty apron only takes an hour to whip up.

Big Books Library Bag Tutorial

I've had quite a lot of readers asking how they can stay up to date with the latest projects added to our Threading Your Way with Threading My Way link parties. Most have asked if there is a way to be automatically notified each time a new project is added to one of the 38 parties. Unfortunately, there's no way I am aware of.

Feature posts showcase some of the wonderful projects, but I can't possibly feature them all. There's just too many. And so I thought I'd start a new series showcasing individual projects. Here's the first one...
