Good tip, Pam! I'll confess to never having done this - off to rectify the situation immediately. After all, I back up my laptop hourly - I really should be as careful with my blog!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, a good reminder. I haven't saved it for ages.
ReplyDeleteHi Pam! This has been a lot in my mind lately - a while ago I didn't even know we can back up and I haven't learnt to do that yet. Any change that you could teach us wordpress bloggers too? Hugs! x Teje
ReplyDeleteWhere you back up your blog - to your computer or some other 'memory'. x Teje
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I saw this because I stink at doing this. I don't even remember the last time I backed up my blog and I am shocked to know I should be backing up weekly.
ReplyDeleteThanks,
KC
Thanks Pam for the reminder. I tell myself to do this once a month or every 3 months, but do I? well I just did it now thanks to your reminder!
ReplyDeleteOi, good advice. Thanx!!
ReplyDeleteHi Pam,
ReplyDeleteI've now saved to your instructions on the external hard drive.
Thanks for the instruction.;-)

Good advice as always Pam
ReplyDeleteThanks for this post Pam ! Did not know this feature. So how does this xml help ? Does it contain info of all posts ? pictures links everything. Well a backup means that I now :) Have you tried it ever to use the xml anywhere?
ReplyDeleteConfession...I had never backed up my blog! Thank you, Pam! I just backed up! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks Pam, I always forget to do this so thanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteThank you Pam, I have never ever backed up my blog :( Best get to it!!!
ReplyDeleteI remember to back mine up about once a month. You're right, it should be everyday.
ReplyDeleteoh, I have never backed mine up... not once...
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Pam, for yet another great tutorial!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pam! I just backed up my blog up per your instructions.;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for this post Pam. I've only ever backed up my blog once months ago and if anything should happen to it I don't have a clue how to get it back with the back up. Maybe you could do a tutorial on that too.
ReplyDeletethank you Pam, my computer just died and I lost so many things, I woulddie if it happened to my blog! I will start backing it up
ReplyDeleteThank you Pam!
ReplyDeleteI am supposed to do it every weekend, but sometimes it seems like I'm busier Friday through Sunday than the other days of the week! Maybe I should change the schedule around so I actually back it up... Thanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteHey! So I've been trying to backup my blog, but when I click "Download full template" it doesn't give me the option to "Save As"
ReplyDeleteI can still find it, but it would easier if I could place it where I want.
Also, (as a beginning blogger) I backed up a test blog with the one I saved on my real blog. And it didn't revert to what my real blog is like. Why is that?
Thanks!
To the best of my knowledge, there's no option to Save As. When I've played with a test blog, I was able to Restore/Backup using the template file and then Import the posts... so, a two step process. The only thing that didn't work was the thing that were in my sidebar.
DeleteWhat a fabulous reminder. You just never know. And it's better to be safe than sorry! Thank you, Pam!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know how to save my blogs' posts - thank you so much!!!
ReplyDeleteLiebe Grüße,
Sabine
