I've just come home from a wonderful quilting retreat up at Blackheath, in the Blue Mountains of NSW. Three solid days of sewing - just perfect!!! But a sewing retreat wouldn't be complete without a little shopping.

Op Shop Sewing Finds...

A trip to the Lions Club of Berowra Op Shop almost always results in fabulous finds and additions to my sewing stash. Not only are they cheaper than the larger Op Shops (Thrift Stores), but everything is so well organised.

Zippered Pouch Christmas Present...

Another Christmas present finished!!! That's three this year. My goal is one present per month and so far I'm on task.

Oliver + S Sunny Day Shorts ~ Adding a Leg Band

In the middle of our Australian Summer, I made two pairs of Oliver + S Sunny Day Shorts. I knew that before shorts wearing weather finished, I would make another pair, but with some modifications. I wanted to add contrasting bands to finish off the legs.

Skirt Binding Experiment...

Last year I made this skirt using a bright, fun print... Dr Seuss Fabric - Pastel Rainbow Hills by Robert Kaufman - Oh the places you'll go. The close up photos further down in the post show the colours best.

What's Happening in March...

A quick heads up on some sewing related happenings in March..

Sewing for KIDS...

Project Run and Play has changed the format this year. At the beginning of each month one past Project Run & Play Contestant will pick one of their free patterns or tutorials. Each monthly winner will be receiving over $100 prize package. March's designer is Jessica, from Me Sew Crazy.

Each month Shwin & Shwin will select a pattern from their shop as the pattern for the month. Throughout the month you can sew up the pattern as you want. Share a photo in the Facebook group to enter. One person will win a $50 gift card to an online Fabric store. This month's pattern is the Maggie Mae Dress/ Tunic.
