Easy Peasy Peasant Dress ~ Pattern Review

I've made quite a few peasant dresses with the Easy Peasy Peasant Dress by Tie Dye Diva, so I thought it was about time I wrote a pattern review.

Additions to the Stash

It's becoming known amongst my friends, friends of family, and friends of friends, that I'm more than happy to help when someone wants to get rid of fabric they no longer need. A few months ago now, a good friend gave me bags and bags of fabric that one of her relatives no longer wanted. Seriously, it half filled the boot of my car.

Helping Others Through Sewing...

... if you ever need a helping hand, you’ll find one at the end of your arm. As you grow older you will discover that you have two hands. One for helping yourself, the other for helping others. … Sam Levenson

Today I've put together a list of charities that accept hand sewn projects in one form or another.  As sewists, we often have extra sewing supplies that are looking for a good home. Some of us even have so much fabric, that it feels good to sew just in order to decrease the stash a little. Ha, ha... that's me - a project or two hardly makes a dent in the stash.

Infinity Scarves for ME

I keep saying I'm going to sew more for myself, but it doesn't seem to happen. It's been a year since I made anything - a long sleeved top - and six months before that - a cowl neck sheer top. Two garments in eighteen months... ha, ha - not much sewing.

Make an infinity scarf for yourself. A very quick and easy project ~ Threading My Way

Creating Pages & Adding a Navigation Menu to a Blogger Blog

Today's post is one of a series of Blog Tips for those who are relatively new to blogging, using the Blogger platform.

Once you've set up your blog, you'll want to make it easy for readers to find old content and to easily find their way around. The easiest way to do this is to add a menu bar at the top of your blog. On Blogger blogs, each tab on the navigation menu links to a Page. Today I'll show you how to:
  • add Pages to your blog
  • display Pages as a menu under the header or as links in the sidebar

Make a Handmade Birthday Card for a Special Occasion

Making a birthday card is a practical and meaningful craft activity for kids - a project with a purpose. A store bought card just doesn't compare. There's just something special about a handmade birthday card.  The thoughts, love and time that go into a handmade card are priceless.

Refashioning ~ Keeping Elements of the Original

In case you missed it, here's the post I wrote for the House of Estrela Refashion Month.

My refashions tend to fall into two categories:
  1. Utilising a garment by deconstructing it, trying to maximise the amount of fabric I can obtain, then treating the fabric as I would any other fabric.
  2. Keeping elements of the original garment and incorporating them into the refashion.
Refashioning by utilising elements of the original garment - saves time. The features can actually make the refashioned item stand out ~ Threading My Way
