Infinity Scarves ~ Beginner Sewing Project

Here are the infinity scarves I talked about last week. Such an easy project - perfect for a beginner. Mine are sewn with stretch fabric. Woven fabric would be even easier to make.

The one I'm wearing is my favourite, and I was tempted to keep it, but I won't. All of these scarves will be going to women who find themselves in extremely difficult situations. Seven will be given to Hawkesbury Helping Hands for their Winter appeal.

The rest will be kept till November, when I'll add them to the bags I've bought for this year's It's in the Bag, run by Share the Dignity. Last year I managed three bags. This year I'm aiming for five bags, with Little Miss and Little Mister doing another two.

I'm not going to do a tutorial - there's so many online - but I'll add some links below. Basically, it's sewing two seams...
  • with right sides together, sew the long sides.
  • turn right side out.
  • with a machine, sew the short ends together, as far as you can.
  • sew the rest by hand.

  1. Holy moly, Pam, that is certainly a boat load of links to infinity scarves! Last we "spoke" of this, you had mentioned that you might try adding a twist before the final seaming... did you get a chance to try that on any of these?

By the way, that dinosaur (?) fabric is fascinating.
