ONGOING charity projects...

Days for Girls International: Feminine Hygiene Program... Every Girl. Everywhere. Period. Veronica, at SewVery, brought this one to my attention. Such easy projects we can sew to help these girls retain their dignity.

Imagine a world where every little girl owned at least one dress. This is the aim of Dress a Girl Around the World. There are chapters around the world and within many states of the U.S. The Australian, Washington and UK branches are very active, as no doubt are many others. These are just the ones I've had contact with.

I'm hoping to do some sewing with stretch fabrics in August, and maybe even sew for myself. What do you have planned for the month of August?

  1. Fun stuff! -Marci @ Stone Cottage Adventures

  2. I have a few things on my To Do list for August:
    - princess tiara for a friend in Sweden for her brand new granddaughter (I want to mail it with her birthday card, as a surprise)
    - score some worn out jeans to try out some monster zipper bags
    - start quilt set for a baby that's coming early next year
    - complete Christmas gift for the new baby's big brother

I also have quite a few zipper bags, totes, notebookcovers, pillowcases and aprons kitted to sew, so as I have free time I can just grab a bag and start stitching :)

  3. Wow so many fun things going on around the world - can't keep up! :-)

  4. What a wonderful resource of events you've put together! Thanks. I've discovered some new series to check out and follow!
