Seasons Greetings from Australia

Seasons Greetings from Australia ~ Threading My Way

For the last two weeks I've done absolutely no sewing or blogging - very different to last year at this time when I was feeling super organised.

Family means more to me than anything else!!! So when a family member is in hospital, all else stops. Thanks to modern medical science, we have a good outcome, and will celebrate Christmas with all members of the family present and in good health.

Due to scheduled blog posts, you may not have noticed my absence. I, on the other hand, have no idea what's going on in blog land, not to mention there's a back log of comments to read and respond to. Once Christmas is over, I'll start answering emails and catch up on blog reading.

This time of year means different things to different people. For me, it's all about family - a day with the most important people in my life.

We normally spend time outdoors, but rain is predicted for Christmas Day this year.

What we do during the day is not important - being together is.

Whether you celebrate in sweltering heat, or with snow falling outside, I hope you unwrap lots of joy, love, peace and laughter with the people who mean the most to you.

Seasons Greetings - Merry Christmas - Happy Hannukah

I'm off to start wrapping presents. See you in 2018...

... Pam

  1. Oh Pam it sounds like you've had quite a time - I'm glad your family member has a good outcome - I hope everything goes smoothly from here on in! Don't worry about blogging or commenting or emailing - give yourself a break, and enjoy the holiday with family - that IS the most important part of it - everything else can wait (or go by the wayside) :) We have company coming tomorrow (including our kids) for an informal dinner get-together, then on Christmas Eve day I'm baking the entire turkey dinner (too busy to do it Christmas Day), and then on Christmas the kids are coming over first thing in the morning for our annual Overnight Caramel French Toast breakfast, after which we go to see hubby's family, after after which we come back here - with the kids - for a simple buffet style Christmas dinner that - lo and behold!!! - just needs to be heated and served :) Everything will be relaxed and calm. No it won't! Something will go awry but we'll deal with it and laugh about it :D I'm just glad both boys will be with us :D

I hope you and your readers and everyone who celebrates it, has a wonderful and safe Christmas with family/friends :)

  3. Merry Christmas! Sorry to hear you have had a family member in the hospital, but so glad that all is well now. I too cherish these times with family near. I don't sew as much as I use to when my kids were little. They are teenagers and growing up so fast. I cherish these times because I know in a blink of an eye, they will all be off living their own lives. I shall jump back more into sewing then. I just looked over my past year of sewing and it seems so little, but so much more went on outside of the sewing room, and that makes me happy too.

  7. I'm glad things went well for your family and you got to spend it together. I tried not to stress this year. I did sew a few gifts and avoided feeling guilty for those I couldn't sew and had to buy. We too had a family situation for most of December, which led me to take care of a newborn included, my time was quite shortened. Things seem to be going well here too. I hope you have a wonderful 2018!!!
