Virtual Baby Shower

I've been invited to a Baby Shower - today - and it's a SURPRISE. The guests live in different parts of the world and so we're attending online; a Virtual Baby Shower...

Baby Shower Gift... make some wash cloths and pop them in a fabric basket for a useful and practical gift ~ Threading My Way

for Jenya, from While she was sleeping. I can't remember how Jenya and I met online, but I think it was about the time she made a gorgeous, scalloped skirt for her then little daughter. Using her tutorial to make scallops is still on my To Do list.

Baby Shower Gift... make some wash cloths and pop them in a fabric basket for a useful and practical gift ~ Threading My Way

If you sew for children, While she was sleeping is a must read. Jenya is always trying out and reviewing new patterns, as well as sometimes writing her own tutorials. She does quite a bit of sewing for herself, too. With a new baby on the way, who knows, maybe there'll be a slight change of direction.

Last year Jenya co-hosted the popular You and Me series - helping to build healthy strong relationships between parents and children through sewing. We emailed back and forth in the lead up to the series, realising we had quite a lot in common.

Jenya and I have only corresponded online. Fingers crossed - we may get to meet in real life later on in the year. In the mean time Jenya, here's my gift to you and your soon to be born little baby.

Adorable as babies are, they are messy little people, and so I've made you some baby wash cloths and a fabric basket to pop them in.

Visit some of the other guest and see what they have brought to the baby shower:

What's your favourite gift to take to a Baby Shower?

... Pam

Edited to add: I've since written a post giving details as to how I made these and another set of baby wash cloths.

  7. What a sweet and practical present! Thank you very much Pam. Yes, cute adorable babies are certainly the messiest creatures on earth hehe I am sure these cloths and the basket will be put to good use! In fact, R will enjoy them too - she is heavily into letters and sounds at the moment. In all honesty I can't remember how our paths first crossed, but I am glad they did :) Thank you Pam!

  8. This is such an awesome idea! So sweet of you all! :)

I like to do my flannel rag blankets. Or sometimes I do a basket or a huge sling bag full of books.

  19. This is adorable! I've not been to many baby showers, the last one I made a diaper bag and changing pad, the one before that I co-hosted and made the cake, and I think I gave her some diapers. But I've been told a baby can never have too many receiving blankets, so I try to keep some of those pre-made and on hand. I really like the washcloths though, they make a lot of sense. Thanks for sharing!
