My Win...

I have previously mentioned that I won some fabric during Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Week. Well, my fabric has arrived, all the way from the other side of the world...

10 fat quarters of Flea Market Fancy by Denyse Schmidt!!! How lucky am I?

I'm not sure what I'll make with this gorgeous fabric yet, but use it I will and of course you'll see what I make.

My sincere thanks to Nicole, from Mama Love Quilts, for such an awesome giveaway. As the blog title suggests, Nicole is into quilting. One day, maybe, I'll be able to make quilts like this, this or this.

Perhaps I'll save my new fabric for a quilt. However, I won't use it in my first quilt. I'd like to build up my skills first.

Tomorrow is the day I begin my first quilt!!! Well, the cutting out of my fabric. I'm determined to keep up with Ashley, from Mommy by Day Crafter by Night, for the Zig Zag Quilt Along and tomorrow is cutting out day. I've decided to use fabric from my stash, but I'm not sure which fabric yet. I'm still toying with colours and combinations, as well as trying to avoid any florals.

I've spent much of tonight looking at zig zag quilts online. My first port of call was our ongoing Quilting and Patchwork linky. Kristin, from Pretty Tings and Britt, from Third Time's A Charm, have both made awesome zig zag quilts. From there, it was on to Google images to look at colour combinations. I'm liking red, navy, grey and aqua together.

Time to start spreading the fabric on the floor and playing with combinations.
