Art Smock...

Last year I showed you how I used a free peasant dress pattern to make art smocks. Little did I know, I already had a pattern specifically designed for art smocks. Hmmm... Perhaps I have too many patterns if I can't remember those I have. In my defence, this pattern is in one of my sewing books. For some reason, I love buying sewing books and looking through them, but I rarely think to look at them when making a project.

Threading Your Way ~ Fabric Baskets ~ Link Party

Welcome to the thirty ninth edition of Threading YOUR Way with Threading My Way. Each ongoing, themed link party is steadily growing into a resource full of ideas and inspiration.
Remember, these linkys are ongoing, so you can continue to add projects throughout the year. Add as many projects as you would like.

Our thirty ninth linky is Fabric Baskets. Fabric Baskets were originally in the same link party as Drawstring Bags, but I thought fabric baskets deserved a linky of their own. I'll delete all the fabric baskets linked to the Drawstring Bags link party and will add them to this page.

    Library Bag...

Here in Australia, it's back to school time next week. Our main holidays are in Summer, beginning a few days before Christmas and ending just after Australia day (26th January). Most schools require the younger students (roughly ages 5 - 12) to have a library bag, so they can borrow books each week from the school library.

      Girls Day Out Fabric Shopping...

A day spent fabric shopping... what could be better? A day with three generations of fabric-a-holics fabric shopping. Well... two fabric-a-holics and one in training. Yesterday we headed off to HobbySew, Ryde and then a new to me quilting shop, Material Obsession, at Drummoyne (Sydney, Australia)

Another No Frills Extra Large Tote...

No Frills Extra Large Tote ~ Threading My Way

I've made another No Frills Extra Large Tote. The first was originally made to carry a pillow and has been used a lot. On Christmas Day, I found it a great size and shape to easily carry and pack presents for the car.

      Hexies...

      Hexies ~ Threading My Way

I have a new addiction... English Paper Pieced Hexagons. Who knew that folding and tacking small scraps of fabric on bits of paper would captivate my attention, but it has. I'm mainly confining the time spent on my new hobby, to times when I'm watching TV. As I don't watch much TV, it will be a slow process before I make anything of any size.

      What's Happening in January...

A quick heads up on some sewing related happenings in January...

Magda is hosting the House of Estrela Refashion Month; a whole month of refashioning with 20+ bloggers. I kicked off the series with some thoughts and ideas on refashioning.

Making Personal Care Bags is the current sew-along to help others, over at Hopeful Threads. Kristy has changed the format this year, with projects running quarterly instead of monthly.

      Goodbye 2013 ~ Hello 2014...

Happy New Year!!! In the land Down Under, it's already 2014.

I've had a bit of a break from blogging, but have been busy sewing. In the lead up to Christmas, I was in a mad rush trying to finish off Christmas presents. At the eleventh hour, on Christmas Day, I finished the last present. Yay!!! I finished everything I had set out to make.
