Showcasing ~ Lace Zipper Pouch + Hexagon Flower ~ Tutorial

Sewing zippers sounds scary - until you do it! I've never sewn a lace zipper, but it looks even easier than a regular zip.

Lauren, from Molly and Mama, shows how to make a Zippered Pouch embellished with a Hexagon Flower. The pretty pouch closes with a lace zipper. Apart from the hexagon flower - which is hand stitched - it's all straight line sewing. You could even leave off the hexies to make it even simpler.

Have you made anything with a lace zipper? If you know of a good online store that sells lace zips, let me know in the comments.

  1. This is so pretty. And something that looks like a relaxing pandemic activity.

No, I've never used a lace zipper myself, but in the past, I had contemplated buying some. While I can't recommend an actual shop that I've had experience with, there are several dealers on eBay (with decent ratings) selling ten 16" zippers for about $4 USD.

I assume that a lace zipper would be sewn on top rather than on the bottom of a turned pocket?

  4. Lauren from Molly and Mama demonstrates how to build a zippered pouch adorned with a hexagonal flower. The lovely pouch is secured with a lace zipper. Except for the hexagon flower, which is hand stitched, rest of the sewing is straight line. You could even remove the hexies to make it even simpler. Thank you for sharing your insight!
