Sewn by YOU ~ Denim Jeans Plant Holder

I do so love to see photos of projects made with, or inspired by, one of my tutorials. Today's Sewn by YOU project is no exception.

My Denim Jeans Fabric Basket Tutorial was one of the first tutorials I ever wrote - way back in 2012. It's been viewed 598,000 times and Pinned 128,000 times. And because it was posted back in a time when lots of people left comments on blogs, there are 120 comments on the post. What I love way more than any numbers, however, is knowing people have found the tutorial helpful.

One way to do that is to show me photos.

Wendy added a photo of her denim jeans basket to Pinterest. What a great way to display a plant! The lining is the perfect colour for a basket holding a plant pot. The denim basket is sturdy and washable. I imagine you'd need to take the plant out of the basket to water it, although you could easily add a little saucer to the bottom.

Thanks for showing me how you upcycled an old pair of jeans, Wendy. I love it!

What are some of your favourite ways to repurpose, refashion or upcycle pre-loved denim jeans?
