Seasons Greetings from Australia

Seasons Greetings from Australia ~ Threading My Way

It's the day before Christmas Eve and I'm feeling so organised. For the first time ever, I have finished wrapping presents early. Normally, I'm still madly wrapping in the early hours of Christmas morning.

Note to self - must do this again next year!

It's taken away all the pressure. Because I've had so much time, I've had fun and experimented a little with wrapping. Even had time to take photos - will show you next December.

All the planned sewing for gifts has been completed - photos to come after Christmas.

This time of year means different things to different people. For me, it's all about family - a day with the most important people in my life.

We'll no doubt spend time outdoors.

What we do during the day is not important - being together is.

Since it's Summer here in Australia, it'll be warm. It's predicted to be 30ºC (86ºF), for us. In other parts of the country they are expecting a very hot 40ºC (104ºF).

Whether you celebrate in sweltering heat, or with snow falling outside, I hope you unwrap lots of joy, love, peace and laughter with the people who mean the most to you.

Seasons Greetings - Merry Christmas - Happy Hannukah

See you in 2017, if not before...

... Pam

  1. Congratulations on being so organised Pam! We are about to experience our first Atlantic Storm in our new house and keeping our fingers crossed that all our children make it here for Christmas safely.
Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas from a wet and very windy Scotland :)

  4. Merry Christmas from Oregon. We are predicted to have a sunny day -around 40'f. (Beats the rain and fog). DD is flying home on Christmas day from AK and DS is bringing the new girlfriend home for viewing. Our day will be busy with family visits and traditional Christmas morning things. I am oddly quite organized this year as well. My gifts need to be tossed into gift bags when I finish work on Christmas eve.
Merry Christmas to you and yours.

  7. To continue with the weather related conversation, Christmas Day where I am is expected to have a high of -15C (or 5F). Snow is expected to fall. Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season. And thank you, Pam, for all that you do on a regular basis.

  8. I got my sewing done early, then added NEW "extra" projects to my To Do list, and then was still stitching and wrapping gifts at 9:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve! I don't think I'd ever be able to sit still and just watch a movie or visit with friends on Christmas Eve - I think I'm destined to be a last minute do-er, LOL. I did run out of fabric gift bags so I've picked up several meters of Christmas fabrics on my Joanns run, so those will go right in my To Do pile for 2017! I definitely need to whip up a few larger bags, and then some medium ones - they'll never go to waste, that's for sure!

  9. Merry Christmas and Happy New year to you and your family too! We live in Cental Ontario Canada (midway between Toronto and Kingston). We have already gone through a week of freeze 9-21 and lower). Some family members were 7 hours going250 km yesterday. Frrezing rain, accidents on the MacDonal Cartier freeway with tractor trailers, so it was closed. Typical at some junctures in the winter. We did have a terrific Christmas though, with most of the family, and everybody safe at home now.
Wishing you and yours all the best through the holiday season!

    1. When I picture snow, I don't tend to think about the downsides. I just see the picturesque, postcard scenes. Even though your Christmas weather is so different to ours, it's family that really count. Glad most of the family were home and that you had a terrific Christmas.

  10. Hi Pam! We didn't have a white Christmas here in Oklahoma, but it did get warmer for us than it had been. We kind of miss the snow we were accustomed to in Germany. Although not having to scrape ice is not a bad thing. We too like to spend Christmas at home with our kids.

  12. Season's Greetings from the land Down Under! As the Southern Hemisphere basks in the warmth of the summer sun, Australia welcomes the festive season with a unique blend of sun-soaked celebrations. From barbecues on sandy beaches to gatherings under the shade of gum trees, Aussies embrace the holiday spirit with a laid-back and outdoorsy vibe.
