Umbrella Prints Trimmings on Pinterest

Earlier this week I showed you my QAYG fabric basket, made with one packet of Umbrella Prints Trimmings. The closing date for entries into the Umbrella Prints Trimmings Competition was yesterday and all entries have been uploaded to the Umbrella Prints Trimmings Pinterest board.

There are 93 entries in total, each one made with just one small packet of trimmings. There are some absolutely awesome projects!!! If you would like to see some really creative ways to use scraps of fabric, head on over and have a look on Pinterest.

All projects are entered into the trimmings competition, with the major prize and a quilt prize chosen by four industry judges. There is also a people's choice prize, determined by the project that has the most comments left under their pin on the Umbrella Prints Trimmings Pinterest board.

I have a thing about online competitions and requests to please vote for me. I'm not keen on popularity contests. If you like my basket - great; feel free to leave a comment under the pin, but please don't feel you have to. Only do it if you really want to!!! Don't get me wrong, I am competitive, but if I win something, I like to do it fairly and squarely. Perhaps I'm a little old fashioned.

You don't have to comment under any of the projects, but you really do have to have go and have a look at the projects. You will see lots of innovative and inspiring ideas!!!

  1. Been there and did it! I honestly did think your projects stood out. In fact, looking through the projects on Pinterest was the first time I saw the pouch set, and I zeroed in on it to comment before seeing that it was also yours.

  2. Hi Pam, I did a trimmings mini wall quilt, I love this competition and I love to see all the different uses all the artist, just not quilters . This is my 2nd years. I love your basket, I feel the same, about voting too. But I will do a giveaway the week of voting to get folks to look at what they havent seen before.

  3. That is the coolest collection of scrappy projects - I've not really paid much attention to the contest when I've seen it mentioned (I didn't really understand what was going on, and didn't investigate), but seeing all the projects en masse (on the several boards) has piqued my interest. I need to check out the goodies from the previous years as well - fabulous inspiration!
