A quick heads up on some sewing related happenings in October...
Alyce, from Blossom Heart Quilts, is hosting the Bright Sky Quilt Along. Runs October and November. Lots of great prizes.
Sewing Pillowcases & Puppets is the current sew-along to help others, over at Hopeful Threads. You can join Kristy sewing for her local children's hospital. Project runs till the end of November.
The next Kids Clothes Week runs October 20th - 26th. The theme for this season is STORYBOOK. You don’t need to work with the theme if you don’t care to. There is only one rule for KCW: sew 1 hour a day for 7 days.
The goal of the Léa Dress Sew-Along is to show you how to alter the fit of the pattern to suit your body, show you some fun design alternatives, and to walk you through the whole process of making the dress.
Sign ups are open for the Craftsy October Sew-Along. Participants will be sewing Green Bee's Frances Dress with fabric from the Cotton + Steel collection.
Join the Sew Maris Archer Shirt Sew-Along for a chance to learn more about shirt-making, complete a great shirt and possibly win a free pattern. Starts October, 6th.
Fiona and Paula are hosting Ho Ho Ho and On We Sew, a monthly link party to encourage Christmas sewing throughout the year. There will be guest hosts, tutorials and giveaways each month.
Every 15th of every month, there is a new theme for all crafters to interpret in their choice of crafty weapons. The current theme is MIX. One winner will be chosen at random.
ONGOING charity projects...
The Fluff Project is all about making stuffed toys for children in foster care. What started as a monthly project, co-ordinated by Kristy, from Hopeful Threads, has now turned into an ongoing drive.
Days for Girls International: Feminine Hygiene Program... Every Girl. Everywhere. Period. Veronica, at SewVery, brought this one to my attention. Such easy projects we can sew to help these girls retain their dignity.
What do you have planned for the month of October?
... Pam
For me, this month is "more sharks" and lots of drawstring bags - all gifts :D Not tired of sharks yet - finding sharky items to sew and buy has been a blast!
