This week I'm joining in with Season 6, Project Run and Play, with the theme being Stripes and Polka Dots.
I knew I wanted to try out the Good Deeds Dress by Elysium and was so pleased I did. It is such an easy dress to whip up. This pattern has been created specifically for charity sewing. I've altered the pattern by sewing the bias binding so it only shows on the inside and have added a band at the bottom.
Both fabrics were from my stash, with the stripes being a recent acquisition from a friend who was destashing. I love this fabric combination!!!
This little dress will be packed up and sent to the Australian representative for Dress A Girl Around the World and from there, will be sent to a little girl who otherwise might not own a dress. Last year I managed to sew 25 dresses for Dress A Girl. My goal this year is 50 dresses. Seeing as the Good Deeds Dress was so quick to make up, this should be achievable. 50 dresses may seem a lot, but it's no where near the 365 dresses that the Australian representative is aiming to sew.
After adding my dress to the collection at Project Run and Play, I'll be immersing myself in stripes and polka dots, checking out the other outfits added.
I'm also adding this dress to the Ongoing Dresses for Girls link party, here at Threading My Way. As of today, there are 230 fabulous dresses in the collection. I'd love you to add any dresses you have made.
