Dress A Girl Around the World...
Kristy has just announced this month's project over at Hopeful Threads: making dresses in support of Dress A Girl Around the World.
Kristy's goal for the month is: Let's sew 100 dresses together!
Have you heard of Dress A Girl Around the World? It's an organisation which aims to provide dresses for girls who otherwise wouldn't own one. How could a little girl not own one dress? Perhaps hard for us to imagine as we sit in our comfortable homes, blogging and sewing.
The dream and challenge of Dress A Girl Around the World... Imagine a World where every little girl owned at least one dress.
Count me in for this month's project, Kristy!
My Mum is always on the lookout for fabric I can use. Not so long ago, she found some lovely pillowcases in an opportunity shop and she gave them to me. They are very good quality and look as if they haven't been used. These will be perfect for little pillowcase dresses!!!
It's beautiful Autumn weather here, so I'm off to spend the afternoon in the garden. Tonight I'll start refashioning this pillowcase into a dress.
Will you join me in making a dress or two this month? Head on over to Hopeful Threads to find out all the details about making and sending dresses. There's even lots of giveaways during the month!!!
I'll be sending my dresses to the Australian branch of Dress a Girl.

I'm with ya on this one Pam! Should be fun! Do you know, does it have to be a pillowcase dress or can it be any design?
ReplyDeleteI'll definitely be joining in, but I won't be making pillow case dresses.. I've seen some which look lovely ( that monkey one will come up a treat) but others that look a little too much like the pillow case they were made from..
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to donate a dress for a while now and finally feel like mine are good enough!!
Terrific!!! Your dresses are DEFINITELY good enough, Kate!!!
DeleteWoooo hoooo!!!! So excited!!!!!! :) That monkey is going to be such an adorable and playful little dress! Can't wait to see Pam! Thanks so much for helping get the word out too!!! Hugs!
