Beach Pants and a Holiday...

I recently holidayed with a girlfriend whom I've known since we were both 12 years of age. We drove to Bluey's Beach, Pacific Palms, a small coastal township in the Mid North Coast region of New South Wales, where we spent a fabulous week.

Baby Gift...

This little set seems to be my go to baby gift... a tiny skirt and a small tote bag. This is the second set I've made in a month. The last baby set was made with red polka dots.

Pantettes...

What on earth are pantettes, you might wonder!!! When I found my old school Needlework Sampler Book, inside, I found the one and only pattern I have ever drafted. In my head, I'd always remembered drafting bloomers, but on seeing the pattern, on the outside, written in my best handwriting, were the words Pantette Pattern.

Easy to Make Dress Up Clothes...

Like most young kids, we played Dress Ups as a way of amusing ourselves when we were growing up. I have few recollections as to where our imaginations led us in our make believe world, but I do know we had lots of fun.

Little Tote Bags...

Ladybird Tote Bag ~ Threading My Way

Early last year I did some pattern testing and made a cute, little Foundation Paper Pieced Ladybird. At the time, I thought I'd probably use the block on a little bag and that's just what I've done. It's only taken me 14 months!

Make a Fabric Basket...

Boys seem to collect all sorts of knick knacks and small toys. Fabric baskets are a great way to help keep those all important items neat, tidy and off the floor.

Head on over to the Terrys Fabrics How To Guides, to see my first tutorial as a contributor.

1960s Sampler Book...

I've often referred to the sampler book I had while at school and lamented the fact it no longer existed, or so I thought. Doing a clean up not so long ago, I found it!!! I still have my old Sewing Sampler Book!!! I was so excited when I found it tucked away with other bits and pieces. The sampler book fills in some of the gaps in my memory, but also confirms the way I remember the beginnings of learning to sew back in the 60s.
