Corduroy Pocket Bag...

Making a bag from a pre-loved piece of clothing, is a very quick and easy project. This little bag has been refashioned from a child's pair of corduroy pants.

Basically:
  • Cut off the leg with the pocket.
  • Adjust the side seam if necessary to square.
  • Cut off the hem and sew the bottom closed.
  • Make a strap and attach.
  • Add lining.

For the full tutorial giving step by step directions, have a look at the last pocket bag I made.

I fully intended to time how long it took to make the pocket bag, but I forgot to stop timing. It definitely took less than an hour and I'm not fast at sewing.

This pocket bag is definitely my favourite of the three I've made.

I'll be adding the Pocket Bag to our Ongoing Bags and Totes link party. At last count, there were 234 fabulous bags linked up... lots of ideas, tutorials and inspiration.

Because of the long strap, this bag is not suitable for young children.

  4. I really like this one! I've been turning pants to shorts so this would make great use of the leg bottoms. :)
