We grew up with hankies, not tissues. They were the first item I learnt to iron. Yep, you read that right. We used to iron our handkerchiefs!!! Hard to imagine now. I'm kicking myself for throwing out so many pretty handkerchiefs over the years - so many things I could do with them now, today's adorable bag being one of them.
Julie, from Sum of their Stories, shows how to make a jewellery pouch from a vintage handkerchief. Julie modified a tutorial to add some little pockets to her pouch and also to prevent items from slipping right underneath in the side pockets. The detailed post, with lots of photos will step you through the process.

Thanks so much for the feature Pam. I learnt to iron by doing the hankies too, and fabric napkins (though we called them serviettes) Once you could prove you could do them without burning them or yourself you were ready to move on to the real stuff! Fun times!!
