We all know about the problems associated with plastic. Thankfully, in many parts of the world, shops are not allowed to hand out single use plastic bags. Today's showcased tutorial highlights the use of reusable bags for carrying fruit, vegetables and bread.
Anna, from Tea and a Sewing Machine, shows how to make reusable produce bags. There are two versions - one with boxed corners that is the right size and shape for carrying a loaf of bread. The second bag is suitable for fruit and vegetables. Many of the produce bags I've seen advertised are made from synthetic materials, whereas Anna's are sewn from cotton muslin - another win for the environment. Repurposing old net curtains would be another environmentally friendly solution.

I made similar bags years ago when I had my bread machine - then, when the machine broke, I used the bags to carry home bread from the bakery - much nicer than plastic :)
