Pride and Prejudice Dress...

I was lucky enough to pattern test the Pride and Prejudice Dress, for Bella, from Nisabell Necessary. When I first saw Bella's Pride and Prejudice Dresses, I just loved the puffy sleeves, the empire waist and the gathered bodice.

The perfect fabric was already in my stash; a delicate rose pattern, given to me when a friend was de-stashing. I added the maroon band at the hemline, as I made a mistake with the cutting and needed extra length... totally my own fault and nothing to do with the pattern.

The Pride and Prejudice Dress is a very clever design, with the sleeves forming part of the neckline. Little Miss loves it and calls it her princess dress. To everyone else, it is instantly recognisable, as a Pride and Prejudice dress.

I'll let you know when the PDF pattern is available from Nisabell Necessary.

  5. Pam this is the A perfect dress ....
lovely and thank you for showing the pics. I think adding the colored hem is so much fitting to the period of the dress, ladies in those times were so inventive in using up every scrap of cloth , and create Beauty!!!
