Showcasing ~ Large Zippered Tote Bag ~ Tutorial

Adding a recessed zipper to the top of a bag is not as hard as you may think. And it keeps the contents of your bag safe and sound inside.

Learn how to make a tote bag that closes with a recessed zipper. Tutorial by Vicky Myers Creations

Vicky, from Vicky Myers Creations, shows how to make a roomy tote bag that closes with a recessed zipper. In addition to the outside pocket, there are two more inside - a slip pocket and one that closes with a zip. Each step of the process is accompanied by clear photos, so you can make your own tote bag.

Vicky added her tote bag to the Bags & Totes link party. You might like to check out the following tutorials at the Bags & Totes linky...

  2. That is the best explanation for a recessed zipper, that I've seen. I've never done one because I couldn't wrap my brain around it, but in her tutorial, it looks doable! I've just been studying the instructions and I think I'd like to make this bag. I'm just trying to figure out why the boxed bottom was done differently for the outer than the lining - I'm sure there's a reason, but I'm stumped :D

  3. I have used a recessed zipper on a bag before but this tutorial is much neater than the method I used, I will definitely be using this in future!
