Showcasing ~ Colour Me Bright Felt Pencil Case ~ Tutorial

Felt is easy to work with. It doesn't fray, cutting down on sewing time, and it keeps its shape well. Today's showcased tutorial uses small amounts of felt to make a bright, fun project.

Learn how to make a fun, felt pencil case. Tutorial by Apple Green Cottage.

Damjana, from Apple Green Cottage, shows how to make a Colour Me Bright Felt Pencil Case. With lots of photos, and step by step instructions, this project is perfect for someone new to sewing. As felt doesn't fray, there's no need to neaten seams - even the buttonhole is easy to do.

I have a basket full of felt, including some woollen garments I turned into felt. I'm sure I could easily whip up two pencil cases in an hour.

Damjana added her felt pencil case to the Purses, Clutches & Pouches link party. You might like to check out the following projects at the Purses, Clutches & Pouches linky...

  1. Hi Pam,

thank you so much for featuring my pencil case. I know the majority of your readers can make tons of more sophisticated patterns, but this one is really super easy and intended for those who are just unpacking their sewing machines and eager to start a first sewing project. :)

  2. The pencil case is cute :) I have lots of felt and felt scraps here, but they're the cheap craft felt - I'd love to get some bits and pieces of wool felt to use for embellishing bags and stuffies :)
