Since showing you my reusable fabric grocery bag a couple of weeks ago, I've made another nine shopping bags. Ten bags all up - six for me and four will become presents.
Today I'll show you the bags I made as presents - two bags for each recipient. Once again I've used Michelle's Patterns PDF Grocery Bag Pattern (affiliate link). It's a great pattern - see the full review I've written, and better photos.
Unlike the other eight bags, the one above, (and another the same) are made with the same fabric throughout. No pretty fabric here, as I wanted them to be usable by either a male or female.
I've been hoarding this text fabric for ages, wondering what to make with it. I knew it would have to be something food related, but the right project didn't surface until now.
I can't find the full name on the selvedge, but with the little info I have, plus a Google search, I'm fairly certain it's Pam Kitty Picnic - Recipe for Success - Lake House Dry Goods.
I can't decide which handles I like the best - the red polka dots or the black. Which do you prefer?

Red text print with red polka dots - LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE! I would carry that one as a tote, not a grocery bag, lol! Thanks for posting to the linky party - good luck! ReplyDeleteI want to share about wondering about special cloth with texts, some years ago i got a bundle of left over cloth from a friend, and amongst it was a cloth with some texts and ahand writing ,,,, i had no idea what it could be used for until a friend started a `Short Stories writing course ` i gave her a bag with this cloth for her writing papers , She loves it .

ReplyDeleteYes, I'm in for the red handles. Such great fabric. Like you I've been making tote bags for Christmas gifts. I think I've made five so far. I've also started making oven mitts as presents as well. That's been fun as I've been making my own bias binding which I haven't done before. So easy.
