Following on from my two previous robot appliqué posts, today I present to you all nine robot appliqués, complete with scribbly stitching. All nine robot templates are FREE for you to download.
The Artist: I love his moustache.
The Brick Layer: Ready for a hard day's work.
The Chef: I need my own robot chef for those rare occasions when I venture into the kitchen.
The Cleaner: I think we'd all love our own robot cleaners!!!
The Fireman: Keeping us safe.
The Gardener: Green and brown fabrics would fit well with the theme.
The Mechanic: This one is my favourite!
The Stay at Home Parent: Perhaps a little frazzled after a hard day with the kids.
The Waiter: The first draft of our wine waiter ended up on a set of wine waiter cushions.
As you can see, there are quite a lot of small pieces in most of the templates. This tends to make them a little fiddly and time consuming, but well worth the effort. It's those little details that give our robots character.
Download each of the FREE templates by clicking on the link below each photo.. Don't print from your browser. Click the Download button as per the image below. If you have any problems with the download, let me know.
The templates are sized for A4 paper (8" x 11"). To make them smaller or larger, change the scale when you print.
If you've never done raw edge appliqué before, read: How to Appliqué ~ Preparing Shapes and Fusing to Base Fabric
Once your shapes are fused to fabric, decide on what sort of stitching you will use. You can see what our robots look like without their stitching. The added stitching not only fixes them to the fabric permanently, it also creates different effects and is a way of sketching and filling in details.
I like the effect of scribbly stitching, also called wonky stitching or sketchy stitching. It's fun to do and impossible to make a mistake.
If you make something with any of the Robot Appliqué Templates, I'd love to see photos:
