Lego Fabric Baskets

I think this is the last Christmas present that I haven't shown you. I bought one of the little people a couple of small boxes of Lego, and made him a fabric basket from a fun Lego print.

How to Make Zipper Tabs ~ Tutorial

Today's tutorial will show you how I make my zipper tabs, so the finish on the front is neat and even, with no little bits sticking out.

Find out how to add zipper tabs to the end of your zippers. A great way to finish off zippers on the ends of zippered pouches. This tutorial will show you how easy they are to make ~ Threading My Way

Make a Sweatband & Hat Reducer

It's not often I get a request from Mr TMW, asking me to do some sewing for him. Recently he asked me to make him a terry towelling sweat band for his gardening hat. He wanted to keep the perspiration out of his eyes, but he also wanted to make the hat a tad tighter so it would sit a little higher on his head.

Library Bags for Operation Backpack

Children in Australia will soon be heading back to school after their five week Summer holiday break. For parents this means purchasing school supplies ready for the new school year. Unfortunately for some, this can be an onerous task, due to financial hardships, and that's where Operation Backpack comes in.

Our Garden in Summer

When I was growing up my father owned a wholesale nursery, which he operated on a part time basis from our backyard. My mother was and still is, at the age of 95, an active and avid gardener. So I suppose gardening is in my genes.

QAYG Zippered Pouch

A quick post today to show you a zippered pouch made as a Christmas present last year. You would be forgiven for thinking I showed you this bag last November, but it is, in fact, one I haven't previously posted about.

Denim Wine Bottle Gift Bag

Today I'm going to show you a wine bottle gift bag made from a pair of pre-loved jeans - so much better than a brown paper bag, and it's re-usable, too.

Baby Boy Shorts

Just before Christmas, I whipped up a couple of pairs of baby boy shorts. Not as exciting as toys, but let's face it, to a one year old, the wrapping paper is what usually gains their attention. I'd love to be able to say that I made re-usable wrapping for all my presents, but sadly not last year.

Library Bag Tutorials

Here in Australia, school children are on holidays for roughly five weeks. The break from school begins before Christmas and finishes towards the end of January. Before holidays began, most children would have received a back to school supplies list. For most kids, Kindergarten to Year 6, a library bag will be required to enable them to borrow books from the school library.

Goodbye 2015 ~ Hello 2016

Happy New Year!!! On the east coast of Australia it's already 2016. The last twelve months have just flown past!!! I can remember my parents saying that each year disappears faster than the one before it. Unfortunately, they were correct. To add to the problem I seem to have more that I want to achieve each year.
