Small Zippered Pouch...

Small Zippered Pouch ~ Threading My Way

I've made another small zippered pouch, slightly modifying the way I made the zip purse I showed you last week.

The zip is sewn in differently and I've eliminated the rows of random stitching. I still like that random stitching, but I don't think it would work with these fabrics.

The fabric for the lining is The Sweet Life by Cori Dantini, for Blend Fabrics. The brown with the squiggly lines, is a Quilters Basic, by Lecien and the main fabric is Around Town by Terri Degenkolb for Red Rooster Fabrics.

I can't get enough of text fabrics at the moment and I just LOVE this one. The recipient of this little pouch is a choc-a-holic, so I think it'll appeal to her, too. It was a very cloudy day when I took the photos, so the colours are a big washed out, but they're not too far off.

I'm still tweaking the corners. They're not bad, but I think I can make them less rounded.

Small Zippered Pouch ~ Threading My Way

I could become addicted to making zippered pouches. They're so satisfying to make, not to mention quick and easy.

  1. I just bought a bunch of little zippers on Instagram during #thegreataussiedestash with intentions of making some for teacher gifts later in the year. All your little pouches are inspiring me to get cracking!

  2. I love making zippered pouches too - a great way to use up scraps and zips from the op shop. Getting the corners less rounded is my weak point though!

  4. Love those brown fabrics together. You and Sandra of Sandra Sews both have an eye for coordinating fabrics and, now, pouch making, too. Must try some of those tabs! It really gives them a sharp finish.

  5. Great bag and I love the text fabric too. Zip bags are so handy for so many things too.

  6. Awwwwwwwwww that's so cute - and I bet you'll be tucking a bit of chocolate inside (unless that's what the yellow package is?) - perfect for a chocoholic :) I almost wish my own kids were still in school (ALMOST) so I could make pouches for their teachers - I wish I'd thought of it years ago when they were still students, hehe.
