Showcasing ~ Drawstring Car Play Mat ~ Tutorial

Today's showcased tutorial is a play mat, complete with roads, zoo, garage, hospital, park and houses. When not in use, it folds up into a drawstring storage bag, with room for lots of matchbox cars.

Learn how to make a car play mat that folds up into a drawstring storage bag. Tutorial by Vicky Myers Creations.

Vicky, from Vicky Myers Creations, shows how to make her Drawstring Car Play Mat. The features on the play mat are created using a combination of fabric paint and appliqué. Personalise the mat for your child by adding locations that your child enjoys visiting. The kids could even help design the scene.

Vicky added her drawstring car play mat to the Drawstring Bags link party. You might like to check out the following new projects at the Drawstring Bags linky...

  1. So many fun ideas for boys now - I sure could have used this when my kids were little - the Hot Wheels pretty much took over the floor in more than one room!

  2. This is such a clever idea! My kids are always dragging their cars everywhere, and this would be a great way to contain the chaos. Plus, the drawstring bag is genius for easy cleanup. Thinking about it, the design reminds me a bit of the simple, charming graphics you see in the Dinosaur Game when the internet goes out - just enough detail to spark imagination! Definitely adding this to my project list. Thanks for sharing!

Creating personalized play mats like Vicky's Drawstring Car Play Mat adds a special touch to children's playtime. The blend of fabric paint and appliqué makes each piece unique and engaging. I remember once struggling to craft a similar interactive mat for my nephew, trying to capture his favorite spots just right. It’s fascinating how a simple project like this drawstring car play mat can spark creativity in both parents and children. I remember struggling to find engaging activities to keep my niece entertained during road trips, and something like this would have been perfect. The blend of fabric paint and appliqué adds a lovely texture that makes the mat more interactive. Omegle once led me to a similar DIY idea shared by crafty parents. This hands-on approach not only personalizes the mat but also makes the whole crafting experience a memorable family moment.
