Seven more zippered pouches sewn!!! I am powering along making Christmas presents. These ones are not for me to give, however. A friend has asked me to make four zippered pouches that she can give as Christmas presents. She's paying me to make them.
The only colours she specified were greens for one and a red / blue combo for another. So what I've done is to make seven, so she can choose the four that suit the best.
I've made the pouches using my Quilt As You Go Fabric tutorial. All the details for making up the pouches are in that tutorial - both for the wider and thinner strips of fabric.
The pen gives a little perspective.
I couldn't find any fabrics that combined red and blue, and so I've used separate fabrics to achieve the same effect.
I really am very pleased with how each of these zippered pouches has turned out. Making multiples of the same bag shows just how much the choice of fabric plays in the look of the finished bag.
So, what am I going to do with the three bags my friend doesn't choose? Maybe they'll go into the gift box, although I am toying with the idea of starting up a little online shop. I keep changing my mind on that one - like a pendulum swinging from side to side. We'll see.
I'll be joining in with Bag It, at Elm Street Quilts. Throughout November, Patty will be sharing tutorials and tips for making different bags and pouches, perfect for gift giving. There's some great sponsor prizes for both link ups. Patty has started to show some of the Bag It entries.
It's hard for me to choose a favourite, but if I were to keep one, it would be the mauve / purple floral and polka dot one. Which one is your favourite?
