This little set was a welcoming gift for a new little baby girl. Well, she's not quite so little now. She's already a couple of months old.
The size 1 skirt is made using the Faith, Hope & Love Skirts Pattern (no longer available) by Create HOPE Designs, an organisation giving support to orphan children. This one is the Faith skirt, one of 3 versions in the PDF pattern. Last year, I wrote a complete review of the pattern, together with more information on Create HOPE Designs.
I couldn't resist adding lace to the border. It just seemed to go so well with the polka dots. The fruit fabric is Willow Berries by Alexander Henry.
The Little Shopper Tote can be used as a first, small book bag, a little shopping tote or just a bag to carry goodies around in, when the new little one is no longer a baby. I altered the dimensions in the tutorial to combine the fabrics.
The appliquéd singlet was made by daughter, over at Little Ladybird. Both the skirt and the singlet fitted perfectly inside the tote bag. Sometimes I jazz up the bag, but this time I didn't, so as not to crush the skirt.
How do you like to welcome newborns into the world?
... Pam
A couple months still counts as pretty new! Darling set.
ReplyDeleteA sweet gift for a new baby girl! I love the piecing you did on the skirt and the addition of the lace. Lovely gift!

ReplyDeleteSo cute set-baby gift, Pam!Great colors!
ReplyDeletecongrats
Sweet skirt Pam, she will be the best-dressed little lady around :)
ReplyDeleteAwwwwwwwwwwww that's so sweet - I can just picture a little muffin wearing the outfit - I hope they send you a picture! That's a fun fruity print - the polka dots go perfectly with it :)
ReplyDeleteFor new babies in our family (or for close friends) I tend to make a simple quilt with matching bib ... and if I have time and scraps, a stuffy and/or taggy blanket to go with it. Another gift set I make is sets of bibs backed with chenille - the chenille feels luxurious, and makes the bibs feel really special :)
Really cute...I love the shirt with the Beatrix Potter image too.
