At the time, I was relatively new to blogging and so was quite happy to spend an inordinate number of hours in front of my computer, with the rest of my time spent sewing. And so, I neglected my poor garden.
Don't get me wrong. I LOVE working in my garden. Gardening has been a hobby that began when we moved here to our 3/4 acre block over 30 years ago. Other hobbies have come and gone, but gardening has always remained. Last Summer, however, blogging and sewing took over and I am now trying to get things back under control, before the hot weather begins again.
The bibs I'm going to sew are for this month's sew-along with Kristy, over at Hopeful Threads, in support of Sew For Kids. I'm sure it won't take me long to whip up a few.
One of the items on my To Do list, is a bag, which is a very belated birthday present. I was going to join in with Purse Week, but I know I won't have time. The bag will have to wait just a little longer. Perhaps I can still join in vicariously through Wendy. She's already completed her bag for Purse Week and I LOVE it!!!
Tomorrow I'll be out in the garden again. There's definite benefits to gardening for seven hours a day for days on end. It's great for toning the upper arms. I've been doing push ups and triceps dips for ages, with no visible difference, but after moving a tonne of pebbles and doing lots of digging and lifting, I am very happy with the change I can see.
So, how am I going to make time to sew for an hour a day? I'm going to spend less time in front of my computer... easy!!! Well, perhaps not easy, but the world won't fall in if I spend less time on Pinterest or Facebook... LOL!!! And, just for this week, I might give link parties a miss.
Less time online should give me way more than an hour per day. It's 10pm, so definitely time to leave the computer and start on my hour's sewing for tonight...
All that time in your garden, you must have achieved so much! Well done!
ReplyDeleteI have been very slack in the gardening department here, but I have been away on holidays, so I've got a good excuse! (No excuse for the two weeks prior that I didn't touch the garden though).
Good luck with your kcwc sewing!
It's always a challenge for me to balance the computer/blogging with the rest of life. I can't even imagine how much time a blog like yours takes.
ReplyDeleteI really appreciate what you've done with your blog. It's become my one place to go for finding ideas from link parties, and I seldom link up anywhere else anymore. I'm willing to share you with your garden, though! Enjoy your summer!
Those projects sound fun! Can't wait to see them! I might have to join the sewing for the kids one. That looks like fun 😄
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your hour a day, you will achieve so much with those super-toned biceps I am sure :)
ReplyDeletethanks for the honourable mention! I just have to remember to link it up to Threading My Way next time I'm on my home computer!
ReplyDeleteYou know what? I stopped joining link parties a couple of months ago and it's made no difference to my pageviews or visitors, I don't think I got much out of them. I stopped doing it when the hosts started insisting on a text link to the exact post... too much like hard work!
Glad that you're going to squeeze some sewing in! I'm waiting for the opposite...cool weather and no rain to rescue my flower beds from the weeds that shot up when it was super hot this summer.;)
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain in the garden! I let mine get away from me while my babies were itty bitty babies. Which was a pretty solid 2 1/2 years there. This past summer they were at least mobile and able to play nicely outside together. I got things a little more tamed. But I have bigger ambitions for when things turn warm here again! Good luck with yours! -Rachel
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your garden!! Gardening is definitely one of those things that I go back and forth on. Either I'm super devoted, or do nothing all season. This was a do-nothing season. Enjoy your break from blogging and sewing. I think everyone needs a break every now and then. :-)
ReplyDeleteYou are a busy lady with so many projects to do!
ReplyDeleteI have been away from gardening since pregnancy and hand injuries... I can sew at night after my kid goes to sleep, but I cannot work in the yard at night. I feel had for our garden :( Looking forward to see your kids clothes challenge!
You're certainly right with gardening being good exercise!
ReplyDeleteSome more great projects you've got lined up there Pam! Looking forward to seeing what you make!
