I suppose it looks quite a lot and I was actually quite surprised when I gathered them all together. Bear in mind, I am at a stage in my life where my children are grown up and I no longer work outside the home, which means my days are mine to do with as I please.
I am in awe of the number of mums with young children, whom I have met online and who sew or craft and blog. I am continually amazed at their ability to fit in sewing time, whilst raising a family. I take my hat off to you all.
My five months blogging has brought me so much more than time spent sewing. I am especially pleased with the skills I have had to learn to run my blog, in particular, teaching myself a little html. For example, I like buttons the same size, like things to line up and like to be able to change the size of things. Learning a little html has enabled me to do this.
My Photoshop skills have also improved. I have SO much more to learn in this area and this is one of my goals for 2012.
The best thing I've discovered while blogging, is the people I've met. The online sewing and crafting community is a very generous, warm and welcoming group of people. Where else can you find:
- Free tutorials and patterns
- Help and advice whenever you need it
- People who want to listen to what you have to say about sewing
- People who will compliment you on your sewing achievements
- A never ending supply of sewing and crafting inspiration?
What does 2012 hold for Threading My Way? I'm excited to say, that I have started Threading Your Way with Threading My Way, a weekly linky with a different theme each week. I look forward to seeing you there...
Pam, you've made so much in a very short time! I find that I go in spurts - sometimes I'm in a creative mood and can make stuff all the time, other times weeks go by without much happening ... and work gets in the way a bit too!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing what you make in 2012! Happy new Year!
That's a great 5 months. I look forward to seeing what you come up with during 2012.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment on my blog! The ruffle aprons were definitely everybody's favorite! They went a little viral. I love your Barbie outfits! I need to get good at making some tiny clothes.
ReplyDeleteYou've great achievement in a short span. Your sewing skills are terrific and inspiring. Looking forward to your coming blogs.
ReplyDeleteYou've accomplished quite a lot last year! I'm still waiting for Ken and Barbie to arrive for their beach shoot! lol.
ReplyDeleteYou're linky party is a great idea... I only wish I had a bag to link up for your first party! Hmmm... looks like I've got something else to add to my 2012 to-do list already!!! :D
Lots of gorgeous projects! Happy New Year x
ReplyDeleteWow that is an impressive list! Looking forward to seeing more this year! In terms of pictures, I have found picture editing on picnik really easy and very user friendly, I think its easier than photoshop. When you have some time you should check it out and have a play around with it!
ReplyDeleteI have come over from Lily's quilts for a nosy, you have done a lot of sewing!
ReplyDeleteYou have had a lot of fun! It is amazing!
Popped in from Lily's quilts, lots of lovely makes!
ReplyDeleteIt's great to see all your projects lined up like that, you can see just how much you've accomplished!
ReplyDeleteI too am so impressed with all the crafty bloggers out there. As someone learning to sew in a town where there are no sewing lessons and 4.5 hours away from my Mum, the internet has truly taught me almost everything I know. And then inspired me to do so much more with it!
Pam, I've only found your blog today! I, too, started blogging in Aug. and I was looking for sewing blogs! We live different lives, though I'm also home without small ones, I do have an adult with autism and hubs and I are both disabled. If you care to look, I do intend to sew more in 2012!

ReplyDeleteGreat round-up of projects! And yes, I love the online crafting community too! And as a young Mom that crafts, I have to say that it is the glue that holds me together ~ changing diapers and doing housework is not as fulfilling as creating something. And lots can get accomplished during daily nap times :)
ReplyDeleteFollowing you via Freestyle Friday.

ReplyDeleteWhen my boyfriend broke up with me 4 weeks ago..
I did everything to get my boyfriend back but nothing worked.
I contacted a relationship doctor i saw online.
I told the relationship doctor everything,
He promised to fix my relationship problem.
I am the happiest lady on earth right now,
Never too late to fix your broken heart.
You can still get your lover back...
Fix broken relationship/marriage...
My relationship was restored as promised,
My Ex-boyfriend came back,
He promised never to leave me again
Everything happened just in 3 days..
I RECOMMEND YOU TO __________________
