I'm always on the lookout for easy quilt blocks - something that sews up really quickly. Makes me feel I've achieved a lot in a small space of time.
Kathi, from Runnstitch, shows how to make a quilt block that combines light, medium and dark fabrics. Included in the tutorial are fabric amounts and cutting instructions to make a 36" x 36" lap quilt. The photo above shows one layout. Check out the tutorial to see other combinations for this versatile block.
Like Kathi, you can whip up a quilt top with a favourite fabric collection, or get creative with scraps from the stash.

This quilt top doesn't look as if it would be quick and easy to piece. Love the fabrics you used. This is fabulous.
