Whether you call them book bags, or library bags, a small tote makes carrying books to and from school or the library that much easier. Today's showcased tutorial is a great project for someone who is new to sewing.
Cheryl, from Simply Shoeboxes, shows how to make a reversible library bag, from two fat quarters of fabric - one for the outside and one for the lining. Depending on the fabric chosen, the bag can be oriented so it is either tall or wide. Although designed as a library bag, it could, of course, be used for carrying all sorts of bits and pieces. The detailed instructions, complete with lots of clear photos, will step you through the process.
Cheryl added her library bag to the Bags & Totes link party. You might like to check out the following tutorials at the Bags & Totes linky...

These are neat Pam, I can't wait to be whipping up some for the gorgeous grandson :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing my tutorial, Pam. I have also been making some for friends to use to carry their crochet and knitting in. Three skeins of yarn fits perfectly.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great bag tutorial, Pam. What child doesn't like a bag in which to carry books or other little treasures?
ReplyDeleteFiona I'd be surprised if you hadn't already made some for him ... he's one lucky lad to have a grandma that so enjoys creating for him :)
ReplyDeleteThe library (or anything) tote is cute - and would make a lovely gift (or donation gift) with a book tucked inside - especially if the book was themed for the fabric :D
