Showcasing ~ Hot Dish Caddy ~ Tutorial + Pattern

Carrying food from home to another location can sometimes be problematic, especially where hot food is concerned. Today's showcased tutorial solves the problem and makes it easy to carry a dish of hot food.

Make a hot dish caddy to easily carry casserole dishes from one location to another. The tutorial by Nina Makes shows how.

Nina, from Nina Makes, shows how to make her Hot Dish Caddy. Thanks to the drawstring, the 15" diameter caddy will fit dishes of varying sizes. As well as a comprehensive tutorial, there is a PDF pattern which can be downloaded, so you don't have to work out shapes or sizing. The hot dish caddy would make a great gift. It's fat quarter friendly, too.

I really need to replace my unwieldy system of wrapping casserole dishes in a towel and then shoving into a bag. Nina's hot dish caddy would be MUCH better, and it looks great as well.

Nina added her hot dish caddy to the Kitchen Accessories link party. There are a few new links you may like to check out in the Kitchen Accessories linky...

  1. I got something similar for a wedding gift 37 years ago. I still use it. It also has two handles. This poem was attached to the gift:
A hot pad on the bottom
    Two handles on the top
    Room in the middle
For a dish that is hot
