Nine FREE Robot Appliqué Templates...

Following on from my two previous robot appliqué posts, today I present to you all nine robot appliqués, complete with scribbly stitching. All nine robot templates are FREE for you to download.

Nine FREE Robot Appliqué Templates, each one representing a different occupation ~ Threading My Way

My youngest son designed all nine robots, each one with a different job or occupation. I'm planning on incorporating my robots into a single bed sized quilt, but I could see them working on lots of projects - bags, cushions, t-shirts. Maybe even on cards.

The Artist: I love his moustache.

The Brick Layer: Ready for a hard day's work.

The Chef: I need my own robot chef for those rare occasions when I venture into the kitchen.

The Cleaner: I think we'd all love our own robot cleaners!!!

The Fireman: Keeping us safe.

The Gardener: Green and brown fabrics would fit well with the theme.

The Mechanic: This one is my favourite!

The Stay at Home Parent: Perhaps a little frazzled after a hard day with the kids.

The Waiter: The first draft of our wine waiter ended up on a set of wine waiter cushions.

As you can see, there are quite a lot of small pieces in most of the templates. This tends to make them a little fiddly and time consuming, but well worth the effort. It's those little details that give our robots character.

Download each of the FREE templates by clicking on the link below each photo.. Don't print from your browser. Click the Download button as per the image below. If you have any problems with the download, let me know.

The templates are sized for A4 paper (8" x 11"). To make them smaller or larger, change the scale when you print.

If you've never done raw edge appliqué before, read: How to Appliqué ~ Preparing Shapes and Fusing to Base Fabric

Once your shapes are fused to fabric, decide on what sort of stitching you will use. You can see what our robots look like without their stitching. The added stitching not only fixes them to the fabric permanently, it also creates different effects and is a way of sketching and filling in details.

I like the effect of scribbly stitching, also called wonky stitching or sketchy stitching. It's fun to do and impossible to make a mistake.

If you make something with any of the Robot Appliqué Templates, I'd love to see photos:

I'd love you to share our Robot Appliqué Templates on social media:-)

  1. LOL when I saw the blog title and glanced quickly @ the first paragraph, I started to jump up and down (figuratively, not literally, as I'm sitting at the computer with a bowl of ice-cream ...) - my first thought was OH MY gotta share with Pam! Only to realize .00000000000003 of a second later that you already know about them ;) So cute - I think the fireman (fireperson) is my favourite :D

  9. Gidday Pam. How gorgeous. If only my son was into robots still. Unless it's a Minecraft robot he couldn't care less. Thanks so much for linking up to Thriving on Thursdays. I'm featuring this one at tomorrow's party.
