Happy New Year

It's the start of a new year, and after a month with next to no sewing and very little blogging, I'm feeling refreshed and ready to tackle new projects.

Even though I have many finished articles from last year to show you, my mind is swimming with new ideas to try out. I have to be careful with that, because I have a tendency to become swamped with things I want to do -and then I can end up not doing much at all.

If you read 2017's Happy New Year post, (and if you have a good memory), you may recall the photo above. Early this year I wrote a tutorial for the No Zip Pencil Case, but I still haven't shown you the zippered one - not even one complete photo. A tutorial is on the list for this year - gotta get my act together!!!

Matter of fact, there's half a dozen tutorials in the works from last year. Tutorials do take a bit of time to put together - always way more time than sewing the actual item. Ha, ha... that's not what's stopped me though, as I do enjoy writing them - when I'm focussed. If I stopped flitting all over the place I'd achieve a lot more, both sewing and tutorials.

I've caught up on answering emails, but I'm going to mark blog posts in my RSS feed as read. Sometimes you just have to let things go, and this is one of those times.

I'm off to sew some library bags, but before I go, I have a favour to ask of you all...

During my absence from the blog, I received quite a lot of spam comments. There's always been the odd one, but they've never been a problem. Perhaps because I wasn't deleting them every day, the spammers thought this would be an opportune time to leave more. I think I've deleted them all, but I'm not 100% sure. If you notice a spam comment, I'd really appreciate you letting me know.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy 2018, filled with lots of fun, laughter and sewing. See you soon...

... Pam

  1. Oh, fun, I look forward to your new tutorials. I have been remiss in adding some of mine. I'll look through this week to see if there is anything I can link up.

  2. Happy New Year to you too Pam! Like you I haven't been very active with either sewing or blogging in December so hopefully those lost mojos will reappear now that we are in a shiny New Year :) look forward to seeing your New tutorials when you find the time to post them.

  3. Can't wait to see what's coming down the pipeline - fabricy fun! Tutorials are a big job - definitely way more work than the actual sewing, lol.

Will let you know if I see any spam - I'm surprised at how many bloggers let that slide - it makes me crazy!

  5. Happy New Year!!
May this New Year be special in every way ... bringing you the gift of love and excitement.
I will introduce Japanese New Year's customs.
In Japan, there is a New Year holiday where family and relatives get together.
On New Year, Japanese children receive gifts of money known as "Otoshidama".
Otoshidama is given to children by adult relatives such as uncles, aunts and grandparents.
The amount of Otoshidama grows as the child older, for example, 1000 yen for children under 10, and 3000 yen for children over 10.
Otoshidama is one of the exciting traditions of New Year, which children look forward to very much.
    Ryoma.
