30+ Girls' Skirts ~ FREE Tutorials & Patterns

Today I'm showcasing over 30 free girls' skirt patterns and tutorials - ranging in difficulty, from simple gathered skirts, to more complicated ones with scallops and lots of girlie ruffles. So, whether you are new to sewing, or a sewist with more experience, you'll find many different styles and designs, suitable for girls of all ages. Each tutorial contains step by step detailed instructions, with lots of photos, showing how you can make a skirt for a little girl in your life.

Little girls' skirts are one of the easiest garment projects to tackle. The fit is forgiving, thanks to the elastic waist that many are made with and the length is easy to adapt.

All skirts have been chosen from the Skirts for Girls link party here at Threading My Way.

The other day I showed you the skirts I've already sewn for Skirting the Issue. Many of the skirts included in the roundup would be suitable to make for this worthy cause.

Whilst I love sewing girls' skirts, I'm not a fan of wearing skirts myself, so all the skirts I sew are relatively small. Do you enjoy sewing and wearing skirts?

  1. What a great collection Pam, I think the Dresden Pleat skirt is my favourite but they are all lovely.

  2. When I was as little girl I would have wanted ALL the ruffles. And all the lace, and flowery anything. Oh - and the bubble too - I would want the bubble. I still want the bubble and the ruffles, come to think of it! How much would it make a little girl's day to receive an adorable skirt like one of the ones above ... without a huge investment of time or fabric?! Winner winner chicken dinner!
