Sewing's not always about beautiful projects. Sometimes there's great satisfaction to be had by sewing a practical item for everyday use, especially if it saves us money in the long run. The DIY floor mop pad is one such project.
Damjana, from Apple Green Cottage, shows how to make multiple Floor Mop Pads from one towel. This is a quick and easy sew - perfect for those who are new to sewing. The tutorial is split into tiny steps, making it very easy to follow.
Damjana added her DIY Floor Mop Pad tutorial to the Kitchen Accessories link party. There's a few new links you may like to check out in the Kitchen Accessories link party...

Good item to add to a collection of cleaning supplies - perfect for kids when they move out :)
ReplyDeletePam,
ReplyDeletethank you for featuring my mop pad tutorial! It was only after I completed it when I realized I could at least have used compatible fabric colors LOL! And combining salmon pink with sunflower yellow is not what I usually do, (promise!), but as you say, sometimes practical comes before beautiful... Have a great day,
Haha, yep sometimes sewing isn't glamorous! When my husband asks me to sew on button for him I retort 'Would you ask Van Gogh to paint the garage door?' and if he wasn't dead, I bet hubby would!
ReplyDeleteHa, ha... I'll have to try the comparison to Van Gogh next time I'm asked to do a sewing repair.
DeleteI wonder if my son and daughter-in-law would like one of these as a housewarming present :)
ReplyDeleteYes, that would be a very special gift for people who moved for example!
ReplyDeleteI think housework can even bring a smile on your face if it can be done with selfmade and colorful floor mops.
Liebe Grüße,
Sabine
What a great idea Pam! I'm off to check it out!
ReplyDeleteSometimes the useful makes are the best!
